Violence Prevention Initiatives
Strength in Numbers: Campus & Community Partnerships
A portion of the federal funds awarded to Gettysburg College through the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) campus programs grant will be used to support improved coordination among campus administrators, campus security personnel, and local law enforcement to reduce all forms of sexual/relationship violence on our campus. Gettysburg College has formed a strong “coordinated community response team” (CCRT) representative of all the important on and off campus partners who have a role in prevention education and support services for victims of sexual assault and/or partner violence. The ultimate purpose of a Coordinated Community Response Team is to bring together key stakeholders with different areas of relevant professional expertise all driven by the shared common goal of developing an effective multidisciplinary trauma-informed campus response to gender-based violence.
