About Gettysburg College

Founded in 1832, Gettysburg College promises every student A Consequential Education imparting knowledge and enduring skills through The Gettysburg Approach. Through its rigorous commitment to the liberal arts and exceptional experiential learning opportunities for students, Gettysburg College empowers students to Do Great Work. There are no bystanders here.

Our call to “Do Great Work” is inspired by President Abraham Lincoln’s enduring Gettysburg Address, which he made just steps from our campus. At Gettysburg, we put Lincoln’s words into action every day, and we teach every student to do the same.

Gettysburg College supports the next generation of leaders, problem solvers, and self-starters who roll up their sleeves and do what needs doing.
