Professor Fylling has joined Gettysburg College as a Visiting Assistant Professor for the 2025-2026 academic year. They have a B.S. in Applied Mathematics, Environmental Emphasis from the University of California, Merced, and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the same institution. Their research interests include mathematical modeling of active nematic fluids, with applications to bio-engineering. In particular, they are interested in physics-motivated continuum approximations of systems with multiple identical agents, such as multi-species bacteria colonies.
