Verónica was born in Juarez, México and was raised in Albuquerque, NM. She received her M.A. in Hispanic Literature and her Ph.D. in Spanish (Chicano and Latino Literature) from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM. Her research and teaching interests include Chicano and Latino literature, Immigration studies and film and the construction of identity in contemporary literature. She is passionate about teaching current topics in United States and Latin America culture and society. She truly believes in mentoring her students to the best of her knowledge to make their learning experience a successful one at Gettysburg College. She hopes that her students eventually pursue a graduate degree in the near future.
