Hartford Book Prize

Gettysburg College Book Prize

The Gettysburg College Hartford Alumni Club invites you to sponsor the 20th Annual Gettysburg College Book Prize at one or more Connecticut high school(s), to be awarded this spring. If you’ve sponsored a Prize in the past, we thank you for your support and encourage you to do so again this year; if you haven’t, we look forward to welcoming you as a first-time participant!

The prize is awarded at high schools in the state of Connecticut to a junior who has distinguished herself or himself in the study of American History. At this time we are not awarding the prize to those students or schools located outside of Connecticut.

The purpose of the Gettysburg College Book Prize is to foster and reward excellence in the study of American History and, in particular, the study of Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War era. A related purpose is to expose the recipients (and thousands of their classmates and their parents) to Gettysburg College.

There are approximately 177 high schools in Connecticut, and our goal is to give a book prize at every one. The cost of sponsoring each Book Prize is $35.00. Please join us in sponsoring the Gettysburg College Book Prize for outstanding Connecticut high school students!
