Gettysburg names Robert Schwartz ’92 as VP for Enrollment and Educational Services

In his new role, Robert Schwartz ’92 will oversee admissions, financial aid, intercollegiate athletics and campus recreation, institutional research, and alternative revenue, all with the goal of recruiting and enrolling a new generation of talented students to Gettysburg College

Gettysburg College has named Robert Schwartz ’92 as its new Vice President for Enrollment and Educational Services (EES). The appointment comes at pivotal moment for higher education, as colleges and universities nationwide confront changing demographics, shifting student preferences, and increasing competition.

Schwartz bring to his alma mater an accomplished career in transformation at the highest levels. He has held senior executive roles for leading global brands, such IBM and AT&T, where he guided the organizations through periods of complex change, created new markets, and developed innovative ways to connect with audiences.

“Rising to the challenges and opportunities of today requires determination and a fresh perspective,” said Gettysburg College President Bob Iuliano. “Rob embodies these qualities to the fullest, and I am confident he will help us address this dynamic environment with vision and resolve.”

A third generation Gettysburgian, Schwartz has been a dedicated trustee of the College for the past four and a half years. In this capacity, he has chaired the Board’s Enrollment and Educational Services Committee and contributed to the College’s strategic planning, in addition to serving on Advancement, Audit & Risk, Conservatory, Endowment, and Technology Committees.

“Gettysburg College has been part of my family since the fall of 1921. When I walk across campus, I can feel the weight of their legacies and the aspirations of today’s students. It’s inspiring,” reflected Schwartz.

“I’ve always said, if you let it, Gettysburg will change your life. It was true for my family and it’s been true for me—not once, but two or three times. This College has rerouted me in the best, most unexpected ways. To now be in a position to offer this experience to students and change the lives of future Gettysburgians is deeply rewarding.”
