By the numbers: A year to remember for Gettysburg athletics

Led by passionate student-athletes and supportive coaches, Gettysburg’s athletics program reached new heights in 2024-2025.

The 2024–2025 academic year was one of the most successful in the history of Gettysburg College athletics. Fueled by the tireless commitment of student-athletes and the unwavering support of coaches, the Bullets delivered standout performances across the board—capturing multiple Centennial Conference (CC) championships, earning NCAA Division III championship berths, and setting new team and individual standards for success.

These achievements extended beyond the field of play, as Gettysburg student-athletes continued to excel in the classroom and expand their reach into the community. Their efforts culminated in the College’s best-ever finish in the Learfield Directors’ Cup standings, a true testament to all-around excellence in collegiate athletics.

Here are some of the year’s most remarkable moments and milestones.

Mens Lacrosse team

Gettysburg’s rank in the annual Division III Learfield Directors’ Cup standings presented by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), its highest finish ever in the three-decade history of the rankings. The Bullets had 10 different teams score points in the standings and finished second overall in the Centennial Conference.

Womens Lacrosse team

Teams in the NCAA Division III Championships, marking the most national appearances for the Bullets since 1997-1998. Women’s lacrosse advanced to the national semifinals, while men’s lacrosse and women’s basketball advanced to the quarterfinals. Softball and men’s golf also posted their best national finishes ever.

Winning percentage by all teams this year, marking the Bullets’ best overall winning percentage in nearly three decades. Ten teams posted winning records with both women’s basketball (28) and softball (41) setting new program standards for wins in a season. A dozen teams finished among the top four in the Centennial Conference this year.

Centennial Conference team champions crowned in 2024-2025. Women’s basketball claimed its fourth consecutive conference title, while the men’s and women’s golf teams swept conference championships for the first time since 2019. In addition to the three top finishes, six squads finished as runners-up in their respective league championship events.

Total number of student-athletes named All-Centennial Conference, including 39 first-team selections. Six Bullets were tabbed CC Players of the Year, while four first-year competitors were named Rookies of the Year. Our coaches were also lauded throughout the year with four programs—women’s basketball, men’s golf, women’s golf, softball—earning either conference or regional coaching staff of the year accolades.

Michael Fellman ’25 of the men’s tennis team was named the Centennial Conference Male Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Average grade-point average across all 24 intercollegiate varsity athletic programs. Athletics featured 241 student-athletes on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll with 34 also earning Academic All-Centennial. Michael Fellman ’25 (pictured above), a mathematics and psychology major from Rockville, Maryland and All-CC First Team selection in men’s tennis, was named the Centennial Conference Male Scholar Athlete of the Year.
