Economics Alumna Awarded Prestigious Graduate Research Fellowship

Congratulations to Victoria Perez-Zetune ’16 who was recently awarded the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. After graduating from Gettysburg College with a degree in Mathematical Economics, Perez-Zetune worked as a Senior Research Assistant for the Federal Reserve Board before enrolling in the University of Maryland, where she is a first year PhD student.

The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship is one of the most competitive and prestigious awards for PhD students. The award recognizes exceptional graduate students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines who are pursuing research-based Master’s and doctoral degrees domestically. As a part of this three-year fellowship, Perez-Zetune will receive an annual stipend of $34,000 and up to $12,000 in support of tuition and fees.
