Prof. Scott Hancock and students travel to Rwanda to work with Bridge of Hope

Justin Sunday Nzitatira (far right), founder of Bridge of Hope led a nine Gettysburg College students and one AFS faculty member (Scott Hancock, far left) on a 10-day immersion learning trip in Kigali, Rwanda, focused on how Rwanda has responded to the 1994 genocide. Bridge of Hope is part of that response by equipping women with vocational skills and after-school activities for students. Pictured are a group of Bridge of Hope students, who spent a Saturday morning teaching the Gettysburg contingent about education in Rwanda, and an afternoon teaching us, perhaps futilely for some, several of their well- choreographed dances.
