Space commerce and satellites: Fielding Fellows host discussions on space and the private sector

This semester, the Fielding Fellows hosted two panels looking at the burgeoning business of satellites, public-private partnerships in space, and the need for international coordination to manage risk.

The first panel featured Kevin O'Connell, Dr. Ryan Guglietta, and Keith Masback '87 discussing the current state of space commerce and their projections for the near future. The second highlighted the international crisis of space debris, with commentary from Christopher T. W. Kunstadter of AXA XL insurance and Stephen Earle of the Federal Aviation Administration's Office of Commercial Space Transportation.
