Corey Jewart is entering his sixth year as a member of Gettysburg’s Office of Athletic Communications in 2012-13. He served as the assistant director for three years before being promoted to associate director in the fall of 2010.
Jewart aids the director in covering Gettysburg’s 24 intercollegiate varsity athletic teams, including serving as the primary media contact for men’s soccer, women’s soccer, volleyball, wrestling, women’s basketball, softball, women’s lacrosse, men's and women's tennis, and women’s golf.
During his tenure at Gettysburg, Jewart has covered a number of major events, including the women’s lacrosse team’s NCAA Division III championship in 2011. In 2010, he served as the main media liaison for the NCAA Division II and III Women's Lacrosse Championships hosted by Gettysburg. Jewart serves on several committees at Gettysburg, including the Hall of Athletic Honor Committee, the Orange and Blue Golf Classic Committee, and the Athletics Celebration Committee. In 2012, Jewart's article "Bullets Moment is Now as National Champions" received the CoSIDA Fred S. Stabley Sr. Writing Contest award for Event Coverage of the Year in District 2.
Prior to arriving in Gettysburg, Jewart served similar roles at The College of Wooster (2004-06) and Allegheny College (2006-07). He acted as media contact for several athletic programs and was involved in hosting a variety of postseason events, including NCAA Division III Tournament games in football and men's basketball. While at Wooster, each of his women's basketball media guides were rated top four in the nation by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
A native of Austin, Pa., Jewart graduated cum laude from Allegheny with a history degree.
