209 N. Washington Street is one of 11 apartment-style residence halls for upperclass students. Located across from Schucker Hall, the apartments are a short walk to all academic buildings.
209 N. Washington Street houses 29 students in four separate apartments. There is one six-person apartment, one seven-person apartment and two eight-person apartments. Each apartment contains two bathrooms that accommodate one person at a time, therefore these bathrooms are gender-neutral.
Each apartment in 209 N. Washington also has a full kitchen (including a full-size refrigerator and range) and the dining area includes a table with chairs. Kitchens are not equipped with dinnerware and cookware.
Each bedroom has closet space, a desk, a dresser, and an extra-long bed (39 inches x 80 inches x 6 1/2 inches) for each resident. The beds have two lower height settings: the lowest setting has approximately 12 inches between the floor and the bottom of the bed; the other setting provides approximately 18 inches between the floor and the bottom of the bed. Students may also loft or bunk their beds by acquiring the additional pieces necessary to do so. Students may contact Facilities Services at 717-337-6700 to request the additional pieces necessary to loft or bunk their bed. These pieces will be available in your building lobby during the first several weeks of the fall semester.
The common space furniture generally consists of a sofa, one or two chairs and an end table.
