Paxton Hall

Paxton Hall provides housing for upperclass students It is located on the northeast side of campus and is a short walk to most academic buildings.

Formerly a motel, there are 16 rooms on the first level and 16 rooms on the second level of Paxton Hall. A Residential Education student staff member (a Residence Coordinator) lives in Paxton Hall in the only apartment which is located on the second level. Paxton houses 64 upperclass students with two students in each suite except room 33, which houses three students.

Each room in Paxton Hall has dedicated heating and air conditioning and tiled floors. Each room contains one bathroom that accommodates one person at a time, therefore each bathroom is gender-neutral. Each room also has at least one window with blinds, and a mirror (attached to the dresser).

Each student is furnished with an extra-long bed (39 inches x 80 inches x 6 1/2 inches), a desk with chair; a dresser and closet space.

Bed frames are adjustable and can be set by the student to one of three height options:

• Lowest setting (1st notch): 13 inches of clearance between the floor and the bottom of the bed
• Middle setting (2nd notch): Approximately 18 inches of clearance
• Highest setting (3rd notch): 23 inches of clearance

Students may also choose to have their beds lofted or bunked. Lofted beds allow furniture such as the desk, chair, and dresser to fit underneath. Requests to  loft or bunk your bed must be submitted via a Facilities work order request to Facilities Services.
