CONFERENCE
When the conduct allegation is not resolved through a mutual agreement, partnered resolution, or Council Judicial Board Meeting; involves a Responding Organization that has multiple allegations of similar policies in one academic year; involves a Responding Organization that is on conduct probation or loss of privileges status; involves hazing, aggravated hazing, bias incidents, physical assault, sexual assault, or other violations that caused significant impact or harm to the community or an individual; or involved materials or reports where personal identifying information of students cannot be reasonably protected a potential violation may be resolved through a conference. A conference will not be used when the violation, if determined to have occurred, may result in suspension or expulsion.
A conference is meeting between organizational leadership and an administrator where the leaders will be given the opportunity to respond to the alleged violation and dispute the facts included in the report. If the administrator determines that the organization violated College policy, the administrator will assign sanctions.
The organization leadership may have an advisor that has previously been registered with the College or a headquarters representative if applicable present during the conference. Reasonable accommodations such as the use of video conferencing or a telephone will be made if necessary to allow the advisor to participate. The advisor or headquarters representative is not an active participant during the conference but may be consulted by the administrator if they need to determine sanctions that would require coordination between the College and the advisor or headquarters.
