Kari is the office administrator for the Classics, History and International and Global Studies (IGS) departments. She studied Latin in high school (don't quiz her!) and holds a B.S. in History from Towson University, having taken every military history class they offered.
She spent 15 years in the museum industry before joining the staff at Gettysburg College. She has worked at the now defunct Springfield State Hospital Museum (Sykesville, Md.) and the Carroll County Historical Society (Westminster, Md.) as a college intern; served as the second museum manager at the Sykesville Gate House Museum (Sykesville, Md.), assistant manager of the David Wills House (Gettysburg) establishing their education and volunteer programs, and most recently at the National Museum of Civil War Medicine (Frederick, Md.) overseeing the museum's three gift shops.
She served on the College Support Staff Council 2020-2023.
Fun fact: she's attended every Baseball Hall of Fame Induction in Cooperstown, NY since 1993!
She is always ready to welcome students and campus visitors to stop in the office to chat and answer any questions they may have (although not exam answers!). You might even be offered a cup of tea.
