Production and Analysis of Film

Description:

This major was designed to explore the production and analysis of modern film with focuses on both the creative and technical sides of film making. Courses will explore the theory of motion pictures, artistic composition, modern film narratives, theatrical storytelling, the use of dramatic devices, and the process of film construction. The major provides firm understandings of the basics of story boarding, shooting, editing, and film analysis from a historical perspective. The student will create short films to allow for personal experience with the medium. The student will also produce two completed scripts. There will also be a brief study of CGI to grasp the concepts behind the medium.
