Gender and Rare Issues in Human Resources Management
Description:This major provides an alternative to majoring in Sociology or Management, and is intended to combine the two to more fully explore gender and race issues in human resources management. The application of behavioral science to an organization's function and management will be the emphasis of this major. There will be a focus on the interactions of the individual and the organization with an objective of facilitating communications to improve operational and managerial effectiveness.
Issues of privacy, sexuality, cultural diversity, and workplace discrimination and of great importance to this major. The roles, perspectives, and contributions of women in history will be analyzed as well as the dynamics of race relations. The student will become familiar with foundational management ideas, processes, and techniques.
