Teaching U.S. Military History
Description:This major was designed to prepare the student for a career as a social studies teacher with a focus on American military history. The student selected courses from the departments of Education, Civil War Era Studies, History, and Political Science to learn multiple perspective on military history and gather the skills required of a social studies teacher. The student studied the battles of Antietam, Gettysburg, Vicksburg, and Atlanta as a capstone project to determine which was most pivotal in the outcome of the Civil War.
