Roy Dawes received his Ph.D. from Florida State University in 1991 and started teaching at Gettysburg College in 1993. His research focuses on comparative state environmental policy, legislative elections, and public opinion on military issues. He teaches courses on Research Methods in Political Science, American Voting Behavior and Electoral Politics, State Politics and Policy, and the Political Economy of Disaster. He is from New Orleans, Louisiana.
