Jason Dove come to Gettysburg after an extensive career in choral music. He had served as the Director of Fine Arts in Deer Park ISD just outside of Houston, TX for six years after teaching choral music in public schools for 24 years where he was the Head Choir Director at Marcus High School in Lewisville, TX (2006-2015) among others.
Jason’s choirs have performed for the Texas Music Educators Association Convention and the American Choral Directors Association National Conference. He is a frequent adjudicator and clinician in Texas. He has given presentations on a range of topics related to Kodály approaches at TMEA state conferences and at the Organization of American Kodály Educators National Conference. He has served as Vice President of the Texas Choral Directors Association High School Division and Chair of TMEA Region 24 Vocal Division. He teaches at Kodály Institute training programs in the summers focusing on pedagogy, materials, and conducting primarily in the choral track, but also teaches conducting in the elementary track.
Originally from Paducah, KY, Jason received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Louisville with piano as his primary instrument and voice and trumpet as secondary, and received his Master of Music Education degree from Southern Methodist University.
