WINTER BREAK
The College will be closed Monday, December 25 through Friday, January 5. ONLINE GIFTS
We will issue a 2023 tax receipt for an online gift if it is submitted by Dec. 31, 2023 at 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time (EST). A gift made online after 11:59 p.m. EST will be issued a 2024 tax receipt. To make your gift online, please use the secure, online giving form.
PHONED-IN CREDIT CARD GIFTS
If you wish to make a credit card gift over the phone, you must call 1-800-238-5528 by Friday, December 29, 2023 at 12 pm EST in order to ensure timely processing and 2023 tax deduction eligibility. If you want to make a gift after that please use the secure, online giving form.
MAILED-IN CREDIT CARD GIFTS
IRS regulations consider a credit card gift as having been made at the moment it is processed. Therefore, mailed-in credit card gifts must be received by Friday, December 29, 2023. If you do not think your mailed gift will be received by our deadline please use the secure, online giving form.
MAILED-IN CHECKS
We will issue a 2023 tax receipt for a gift if it is postmarked on or before Dec. 31, 2023 and the check is dated on or before Dec. 31, 2023. Mail your gift to:

MAILED-IN IRA CHECKS WHICH YOU SIGN
The IRS requirements are different if you have check-writing privileges with your Individual Retirement Account and wish to have your gift counted as a qualified charitable distribution in 2023. In those cases, your check must clear the bank and be presented to your IRA administrator in time for them to transfer funds out of your IRA account by Dec. 31, 2023. It is not adequate to sign and mail the check by Dec. 31. Therefore, such IRA gifts should have arrived at Gettysburg by Dec. 10, 2023, so they can clear the banking system and your administrator’s accounting system by Dec. 31.
GIFT OF SECURITIES
We will issue a tax receipt for a gift if it is received in Gettysburg’s account by Dec. 31, 2023. Those arriving after Dec. 31 will be receipted in 2024. If your intention is to make a gift, please make your gift early enough to allow time for the securities to be received by Gettysburg in advance of the Dec. 31, 2023 cut-off.
