Students explore meaning of historic location through First-Year Walk

First-Year Walk

The First-Year Walk is a time-honored tradition, introducing students to our historic location and how it has inspired generations of Gettysburgians to live up to President Abraham Lincoln’s words in the Gettysburg Address and take up the unfinished work of those who came before them.

This year, First-Year Walk speakers focused on the meaning of community, and how significant Lincoln’s words become in the midst of political, cultural, and socio-economic divisions.
