This is a summary of the annual report of the Gettysburg College Retirement Healthcare Savings Plan, EIN 23-1352641, Plan No. 511, for period January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024. The annual report has been filed with the Employee Benefits Security Administration, as required under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA).
Insurance Information
The plan has contracts with Aetna Life Insurance Company and Aetna Life Insurance Company to pay dental, prescription drug and PPO claims incurred under the terms of the plan. The total premiums paid for the plan year ending December 31, 2024 were $165,717.
Basic Financial Statement
The value of plan assets, after subtracting liabilities of the plan, was $6,734,411 as of December 31, 2024, compared to $6,241,081 as of January 1, 2024. During the plan year the plan experienced an increase in its net assets of $493,330. This increase includes unrealized appreciation and depreciation in the value of plan assets; that is, the difference between the value of the plan's assets at the end of the year and the value of the assets at the beginning of the year or the cost of assets acquired during the year. During the plan year, the plan had total income of $1,011,614, including employer contributions of $335,336, employee contributions of $92,396, and earnings from investments of $583,882 .
Plan expenses were $518,284. These expenses included $44,410 in administrative expenses, and $473,874 in benefits paid to participants and beneficiaries.
