Employee Safety

Gettysburg College is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all students, employees, and visitors. Our goal is to eliminate recognized hazards and comply with all relevant safety regulations. Safety is integral to every task, and it is the responsibility of everyone to ensure that work is performed safely. If a task cannot be completed safely, it must be stopped and reassessed.

The College has established a Safety Committee to develop policies and procedures that promote a safe campus. We encourage all employees to submit safety suggestions to the committee.

We value the well-being of our community and are committed to taking reasonable steps to protect it. Safety requires the collective effort of all staff, faculty, and leadership, and each person has a role in maintaining a secure campus.
