Bekah’s life has been marked by experiences at Gettysburg College and abroad. She is a 2019 graduate of Gettysburg College with degrees in Psychology and Organization & Management Studies, and reflects fondly on the semester she spent with DIS Study Abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark. Following graduation, her connection to DIS continued as she moved back to Copenhagen for a 13 month position as their Student Affairs Coordinator. In August 2020, Bekah found her way back to Gettysburg as she returned to work for first for the Office of Residential and First Year Programs as a Residential Life Coordinator then for the Center for Global Education in 2021 as the Assistant Director.
Bekah is from Hagerstown, MD, a small town only 45 minutes from Gettysburg. She values spending quality time in her favorite places with friends and family, and would even self identify as a little bit of a homebody. This descriptor is often met with confusion when coupled with her passion for traveling and seeking new experiences. However, she has come to learn that being at home is not just existing in a familiar space, but rather is the feeling of connection, comfort, and community we gain from engaging in our surroundings (no matter where they are). She loves sharing this perspective with students, and empowering them to engage in Gettysburg’s campus and community as they learn for themselves that feelings of home can be found all around the world.
