Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated was found January 9, 1914 on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C by three honorable and distinguished undergraduate students. It is a historically Black fraternity, but not exclusively Black. Phi Beta Sigma's founding principles are brotherhood, scholarship and service and its motto is “Culture for Service, Service for Humanity.”
