Strategic planning follow up

Message sent October 30, 2020

President Iuliano informs the College about Living Our Promise and invites the community to share their feedback.

Dear Members of the Gettysburg College Community,

I am writing to follow up on yesterday’s virtual sessions that marked the launch of our College’s new strategic planning process.

As I noted in my comments, the important work before us seeks to build on the College’s considerable strengths. At the same time, it will stretch us in fundamental ways, with the goal of being more purposeful and integrated in helping give students the tools to convert their aspirations into action.

As the framework for the work, I spoke to what I have begun to call the Four Pillars of a Gettysburg College education. I also addressed some of the central challenges and opportunities in our path, as well as our need to embrace both in the months and years ahead.

It is essential as our strategic planning process moves forward that we receive the collective wisdom and creativity of the entire community. By sharing your voice and perspective through this process, you will breathe life into the strategic plan and help shape our College’s future.

We have created a strategic planning website that includes a feedback form for you to offer your comments, questions, concerns, and ideas. The website will be regularly updated, including in the coming days with additional information about our strategic planning process and the committees.

For those members of the community who were able to join the conversation yesterday, thank you. For those who were not able to do so, I would encourage you to watch our Zoom recording of the event.

I am looking forward to working together on the strategic planning process and in writing this next chapter in our College’s future. The work could not be more important or timely.

Sincerely,

Bob Iuliano
President
