David T. Booz is an adjunct in Civil War Era Studies. He spent thirty years in public education as a history teacher and over 16 of those years as a high school principal. He was the Executive Director of the Friends of the National Parks at Gettysburg for a year and for the last 12 years has taught in the Civil War Era Studies program. He has written several courses including “The American Civil War In The West” and a first year seminar entitled “Investigate The Battlefield of Gettysburg”. He has also taught “Introduction To The Civil War Era” and “Gettysburg In History and Memory”. Professor Booz is also the national president of the North-South Skirmish Association which is an organization dedicated to the preservation of Civil War history and competitive shooting with Civil War firearms. He is currently also the vice president of the Maryland Arms Collectors Association. He resides near Gettysburg with his wife and family.
