RESEARCH INTERESTS
Most of my research has focused on birds, and in particular, how environmental change impacts bird populations and distributions. I have worked extensively with large-scale Citizen Science projects, and as such, I have developed expertise in analyzing large data sets, usually with a spatial component. I increasingly use technology in both my research program and classes. My focal research program uses drones to count songbirds, and I frequently incorporate smartphone Apps, trail cameras, and audio recorders into my courses.
