Political theory, comparative politics, and critical theory
Chungjae Lee is a visiting assistant professor at Gettysburg College. Previously, he was an assistant professor in the department of military studies at the Republic of Korea Air Force Academy. He received his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine, his M.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago, and his B.A. in International Liberal Studies from Waseda University (Japan). He specializes in political theory, comparative politics, and critical theory.
His research focuses on democratic foundings, constitutionalism, and nationalism from an intercultural perspective. His research is published or forthcoming in Political Theory, European Journal of Political Theory, Positions: Asia Critique, Inter-Asia Cultural Studies, and Pacific Affairs. He has taught the following courses: Introduction to Political Theory, History of Warfare, Theories of Nationalism, and Democratic Theory.
