HARVEST by Majula Padmanabhan, winner of the inaugural Onassis Prize for Theatre (the largest monetary prize for a script in the world).

In this witty and fast-paced sci-fi parable, the young man, Om, is driven to sell his body parts for cash.  When he signs a new job with the Big Brotheresque multinational, Interplanta, Om leaves his slum life behind as guards take over his apartment, to create a luxurious if sterile “germ-free zone” and install a “contact module,” where he and his wife, Jaya, are able to communicate with the gorgeous American blonde, “Ginny,” who needs his organs.  Various members of Om’s family become more and more seduced by the virtual worlds offered by the rich stranger.  As the stakes get higher, these “Donors” are forced to examine how high a price they’re willing to pay for their own commodification.
