Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize winning play is a graceful masterpiece that gives us visions of simplicity and truth in the daily lives of small-town New Englanders. Wilder's balance of poetry and humor makes it as powerful and emotionally resonant today as it was at its premiere in 1938.
