Inauguration Accessibility

Gettysburg College welcomes the participation of people with disabilities.

Please note that there is some distance between the various Inauguration venues. While we provide accessible parking and shuttle services, some walking is still necessary, so we encourage guests with mobility disabilities to bring personal mobility aids.

In order to meet the needs of guests with disabilities or special needs, Gettysburg College will provide accessible parking, CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation) service, golf carts on campus, and shuttle service during Inauguration Weekend events. Ushers and other College staff are on duty at all functions throughout the weekend. Please do not hesitate to ask for any assistance you may need. Ushers and College staff may be identified by nametags with orange ribbons.

Accessible Parking

Please pre-register for accessible parking. To make arrangements, please call the Department of Public Safety (DPS) at 717-337-6912. The following information will be needed: name of person needing parking accommodations, make/model/color of car, and license plate # (including state). Please make these arrangements by Friday, September 20, 2019.

Golf Carts

Student workers in golf carts will be circling the campus offering rides to anyone who needs assistance getting from one place to the other. They will also pass by the Admissions Lot, which is reserved for accessible parking, every 10 minutes to pick up people who are parked there. Please look for them and wave so they know you would like a lift. Inauguration Staff will be wearing bright blue shirts and orange name tags.

CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation) Service
