July 4 Concert and Fireworks

The 5th annual Patriotic Pops concert and fireworks took place on Tuesday, July 4, from 6:00 to 10:00 pm on the Science Center lawn. It is estimated that 8,000 to 10,000 people were in attendance.

An opening set was played by The Willys, a classic rock and cover band, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. The Gala Pops Orchestra Concert performed under the direction of Professor John William (Buzz) Jones and Professor Emeritus Norman Nunamaker from 8:30 to 9:30 pm. A fireworks display sponsored by Destination Gettysburg began at 9:30 pm.

Food vendors included Gettysburg College Dining Services (providing hamburgers, hot dogs, BBQ chicken, watermelon, chips, pasta salad, and soft drinks), Uncle Moe's Soul Food, and Steinour's Kettle Corn.

Beverage vendors included Battlefield Brew Works, Hauser Estate Winery, Halbrendt  Vineyard & Winery, and Big Hill Ciderworks.
