Gettysburg College names new Trustees

Effective June 1, 2024, Gettysburg College has named six new members to the Board of Trustees: Kyle A. Betty ’96, Elizabeth A. Burgess P’20, James C. Kirkwood ’85, Robert L. Noddin ’83, Caroline C. DeWitt ’19, and Dylan B. Minor P’26.

Chaired by Lauren Wise Bright ’90, the Board of Trustees works closely with President Bob Iuliano and the institution’s senior leadership team to help fulfill the mission and vision of Gettysburg College. Their thoughtful leadership is positioning our College for its brightest future.


Kyle A. Betty headshot

Kyle A. Betty ’96

Kyle A. Betty ’96 graduated from Gettysburg College with a Bachelor of Arts in political science, and later received his M.B.A. in business administration from Boston College in 2004. At Gettysburg, he was a member of the football team and Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He has been an active alumni volunteer with service including Class Reunion Committees and Gettysburg Career Connections. At Bain Capital, where he has worked for the past 17 years, he serves in a leadership role for the private markets team, focusing on capital formation and investor relations.

Elizabeth A. Burgess P’20 graduated from Claremont Mckenna College in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts, and then received her J.D. from George Washington University three years later. As a proud parent of Julia Burgess ’20, who double majored in history and philosophy at Gettysburg College, Burgess has served on the Parents Leadership Council, President’s Advisory Circle, and Gettysburg Career Connections. For the past five years, she has worked for Fox Corporation overseeing litigation, intellectual property, standards and practices, and ad sales legal processes.

James C. Kirkwood ’85 graduated from Gettysburg College with a Bachelor of Arts in business administration and was active in the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. Since graduating, he has served in various volunteer roles, including the Entrepreneurial Fellowship Advisory Council and President's Advisory Circle. As president and CEO of Engineering Manufacturing Technologies, Kirkwood oversees the manufacturing of close tolerance metal components, and since acquiring the business in 2013, he has grown the company’s revenue nearly six-fold by focusing on quality and excellence in customer service.

Robert L. Noddin ’83

Robert L. Noddin ’83 graduated from Gettysburg College with a Bachelor of Arts in business administration and received an honorary doctorate from the Asian Studies Program at the Kansai University of Foreign Studies in Japan in 1982. While attending Gettysburg, he served as a tour guide for the Admissions Office and was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity, and has since volunteered for several roles such as Reunion Committees and as a member of K.A.R.E., supporting student recruitment efforts. Most recently, he served as chair of the American International Group, Inc., for Japan Holdings, and now owns the Crocker House Country Inn.

Caroline “Ellie” DeWitt ’19 graduated summa cum laude from Gettysburg College with a Bachelor of Arts as a psychology and public policy double major and educational studies minor. At Gettysburg, she was a student representative on the Board of Trustee’s College Life Committee and has served on the BOLD Council since 2020. Currently, DeWitt works with the Penn Early Childhood and Family Research Center on partnership-based projects as a Ph.D. candidate in education policy at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dylan B. Minor P’26

Dylan B. Minor P’26 graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 2006 and later received his Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy from the UC Berkeley. As the proud parents of Julia Minor ’26, he and his wife, Caroline, serve as co-chairs of the Parents Leadership Council. After launching his career at Morgan Stanley, he founded Omega Financial Group in 2009 and Argos Global Advisors in 2017. He has taught and pursued varied research interests at Northwestern University, Harvard, and UCLA, with current appointments at UCLA and Columbia University.
