connectGettysburg is the official networking and mentoring platform for Gettysburg College students and the Gettysburg College Professional Network, collectively known as “Users”.
By using connectGettysburg, you confirm that you understand and agree to the following terms, in addition to the PeopleGrove Terms of Use:
Purpose of connectGettysurg
connectGettysburg is designed to facilitate networking and mentoring between Gettysburg College students (“students”) and the Gettysburg College Professional Network, which includes alumni, parents, and friends of the College (“Members”). Members are expected to provide help to students and fellow alumni in the form of mentoring – both Micro (short-term) and Formal (long-term).
Micro Mentoring is intended to be short-term career advice such as, resume assistance, industry insights, informational interviews, and similar support, provided on an as-needed basis. Beyond Micro Mentoring, connectGettysburg Users may have the opportunity to participate in formal mentoring programs.
Formal Alumni Mentoring Programs (“the Programs”) are longer-term commitments and utilize algorithms to match alumni and students. The Programs will include benchmarks, check-points and guidance by Gettysburg College Staff. Specific expectations for the Programs will be provided upon registration.
Privacy and Conduct Expectations
- You agree not to share any User’s contact or personal information without the User’s explicit permission.
- Gettysburg College encourages students and alumni to consider all types of career opportunities and respects their decisions. However, Gettysburg College does not endorse or vouch for specific companies, organizations or job postings.
- Gettysburg College makes no guarantees regarding the qualifications, suitability, or preparedness of Users who utilize connectGettysburg.
- Job opportunities for current students are posted through Handshake but may also be visible on connectGettysburg. Users are responsible for exercising due diligence when researching employers and job opportunities.
- You agree to adhere to all Gettysburg College, Center for Career Engagement and connectGettysburg policies, including the Nondiscrimination Statement.
Nondiscrimination Statement

However, the Center for Career Engagement is available to assist Users in navigating issues that may arise.
- Gettysburg College reserves the right to deny, suspend or terminate a connectGettysburg account if any User fails to comply with these Terms of Use or engages is in inappropriate behavior, including but not limited to:
- Misrepresenting a company, organization or job
Committing fraud. - Requesting sensitive personal information, such as Social Security or bank account numbers, on application.
- Harassing students, alumni, parents, faculty, employees or friends of the
Disclosing confidential information protected under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). - Soliciting goods/services.
- Failing to comply with Gettysburg College, Center for Career Engagement, and connectGettysburg policies and guidelines.
- Violating any local, state, or federal laws.
- Misrepresenting a company, organization or job
