My Story from Global Study: My program took us on a tour of the Balkans in Eastern Europe. We stayed in Novi Sad in Serbia, Mostar in Croatia, and Sarajevo in Bosnia Herzegovina, and stopped at Split in Croatia for a few hours. I got to learn so much about the incredible history of those countries. Seeing these countries that were recovering from conflicts that occurred as early as the 1990s really opened my eyes to the other things going on in the world that don’t get attention. We got to speak to professors from universities in Sarajevo, and learn about their government and how they’re rebuilding their education system. It was fascinating seeing how they planned to rebuild in the long run for the good of their people. I never would have stepped foot in those countries if it wasn't for that trip, and even today I keep my tabs on what's going on in that part of the world.

My Advice for Future Students: Take advantage of every opportunity you're presented with, because you never know what experience you can gain from it.
