My Story from Global Study: Hiking through the rainforest & diving on the GBR for several weeks were definitely both surreal experiences, but I’d say the most impactful experience from my program was living with Aboriginal elders in the Australian bush, without any phones, devices to tell time, or access to a shower for a week. Waking up to the sunrise and catching our own fish for dinner were just a few of the highlights from our time in the outback.
My Advice for Future Students: Live dangerously and pursue something you might not be entirely comfortable with. I think less is more when it comes to global study. I left the country with absolutely no idea what I was about to do for the next 4 months and couldn’t have had a more rewarding time abroad. Not having control is something you learn to adapt to and makes for a real and authentic experience.
