Identities I can speak to students about:

Women abroad; International student experience

Favorite experience:

My favorite experience was hanging out with friends and going on the organized wine-tasting trip to Tokaj. It was a fun and cultural adventure that gave us the chance to bond while learning about one of Hungary’s most famous wine regions. The scenery and the history of the place made it even more memorable.

What course/internship experience during your global study semester allowed you to learn something new and exciting?

The Hungarian language class was a game-changer for me. It allowed me to communicate more confidently with locals, whether at the hairdresser’s or in local markets. Learning the basics of Hungarian helped me navigate everyday life in Budapest, and I felt more connected to the city and its people because of it.

How have your global studies related to one of the 7 Enduring Skills?

During my time in Budapest, I significantly improved my intercultural fluency. Living in a city with a blend of languages, customs, and histories pushed me to adapt quickly to new situations. Whether it was learning basic Hungarian phrases or understanding cultural nuances, I learned how to communicate across differences and approach unfamiliar situations with curiosity and respect. This experience strengthened my ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds, a skill that will undoubtedly benefit me both personally and professionally in the future.
