What course/internship experience during your global study semester allowed you to learn something new and exciting?
I did an internship my time in Madrid. I worked at a nonprofit organization where they helped undocumented immigrants from Morocco, Peru, and other countries with their documents, having opportunities for thier kids, etc. I really loved working there because it gave me a better understanding that other people from different countries have to move to another country to have a better life for thier families. To this day, I still talk to many workers in that organization and families too.
How have your global studies related to one of the 7 Enduring Skills?
I believe adaptability fits in my time abaord. At first, it was hard to adapt. Being far away from home, the time zone, being myself, not having my friends and being in another part of Spain. Over time, I got to meet amazing people, my host mom and encoruaging me that this a new chapter for me and sometimes we need to start over. During my time there, I adapted to the culture, people and city and now coming here, I have to adapt again and going back to my routine.
