What course/internship experience during your global study semester allowed you to learn something new and exciting?

I took a finance course which focused primarily on the Australian financial system. It gave me insight to how their system differs from the American one and was useful background for studying for economics as a whole.

How have your global studies related to one of the 7 Enduring Skills?

My time abroad in Australia greatly reinforced my adaptability in an unknown environment. Australia was my first time out of the United States and it was about as far away as one could possibly get from it. This forced me to tackle change head on while studying there. While Australia shares the same language as the United States there were still large cultural differences. The Australian education system differs from the U.S as well as how people interact with each other. I had to change the way I approached schooling and my social life while abroad in a way I had not done before. I feel being forced to adapt to change has given me greater confidence in my own abilities as I return to study at Gettysburg and into my career post graduation.
