My favorite experience in my global study location was getting my scuba diving certification and traveling to the Great Barrier Reef to scuba dive.

What course/internship experience during your global study semester allowed you to learn something new and exciting?
One course that I took while enrolled at the University of Wollongong was a class called Indigenous Knowledge. This course allowed me to learn all about Aboriginal People who are indigenous to Australia. I had the opportunity to learn about a different culture and historical perspective I had little prior knowledge about.

How have your global studies related to one of the 7 Enduring Skills?
Studying abroad in Wollongong, Australia was more than just an academic opportunity, it was an experience that helped me grow as a person. One enduring skill that studying abroad supported was my adaptability. From the moment I arrived in Australia, I was immersed in a new culture, unfamiliar surroundings, and a different academic setting. Navigating these changes forced me out of my comfort zone and pushed me to approach challenges with a flexible mindset. Whether it was adapting to new coursework, balancing travel with academic responsibilities, or navigating public transportation in a foreign country I had to adapt accordingly. The ability to adjust, learn, and thrive in different environments is a skill I’ll carry forward in both my professional and personal life.
