What course/internship experience during your global study semester allowed you to learn something new and exciting?
I took Elementary Hungarian and a boxing class. These classes were very different from my general math econ electives. I would not have learned about these areas if had not studied abroad. Learning a new language was very challenging but also rewarding. My boxing class was a really cool experience.
How have your global studies related to one of the 7 Enduring Skills?
Studying abroad and traveling across seven countries profoundly enhanced my adaptability, a crucial skill in navigating diverse global landscapes. Each destination brought its unique challenges—language barriers , cultural adjustments, and unpredictable travel changes. These experiences demanded a flexible mindset and taught me to embrace discomfort as a catalyst for growth. From deciphering non-verbal cues to quickly adjusting to local customs, the journey reinforced adaptability as not just a response to change but a proactive approach to new and unforeseen situations.
