Extending Global Study

If you are interested in studying globally for a second semester you should contact the Center for Global Education right away about this process by e-mail (cge@gettysburg.edu). Students must have a compelling reason to study globally for a second semester, such as a language major who plans to spend a year in the same location, a student who is required to study abroad for both majors and is unable to meet both requirements in one location, or a student who wishes to take advantage of Gettysburg's proximity to Washington DC through the semester-long internship opportunity. Application deadlines are October 1st for spring semester and March 1st for fall semester. You cannot extend your global study semester after these deadlines.

If a second semester is approved, you will not receive a second additional airfare credit. This is in keeping with the policy that academic year program students receive one round-trip airfare credit.
