Our 2014 Middle States re-accreditation process affirmed the College’s focus on diversity, equity and inclusion as one of three critical themes moving forward. The other two themes are intellectual climate and internationalization. As President Riggs has stated, these themes “intersect with one another and intersect well with our strategic directions of Engagement, Distinction, and Access.”
In addition, the College’s mission compels us to continually strive to provide a learning community that “prepares students to be active leaders and participants in a changing world.” The IAP is the appropriate next step in helping to institutionalize our collective efforts to enhance and sustain the environment of inclusive excellence* required to fulfill the mission.
