Welcome to Gettysburg College! We are very happy that your student has chosen to come to school in Gettysburg. We are also excited to offer an International Families Orientation designed specifically for parents and families of our new international students. This orientation is separate from, but occurs during, International Student Orientation. We hope you are able to join us.

A final schedule will be sent to all registrants in August. This schedule is tentative.
August 21
Evening: Dinner at One Lincoln, 6.p.m.
August 22
Morning: Gettysburg College Tour at 10 a.m.
Lunch: Gettysburg College Dining Center
August 23
Opening Day (there will be many events for all families)
Evening: Dinner at Mason Dixon Distillery & Restaurant at 6:30 p.m.
Online Registration
Registration is required for all participation.
Note: There is a $75 registration fee that covers activities and meals.
International Families Orientation Registration
Hotel
If you are planning to attend International Families Orientation, you also will need to book a nearby hotel. Unfortunately, the College does not provide housing for family members. Family members are not permitted to stay in the student residence halls. Please keep in mind that you should book a hotel that is close to the school since the College does not provide daily transportation between the hotel and the College for the orientation activities. Staying within walking distance of the College is especially important if you do not plan to rent a car; however, rabbittransit provides free transportation from certain hotels to the College with a special card that we will provide you upon arrival.
Transportation
If you register for International Families Orientation, the College will pick up you and your student at select airports nearby. The airports are listed on the Arrival Form. Please make sure to fill out the Airport Transportation Form along with your student’s information to ensure that we know when and where to pick you up.
Health Insurance
In addition, if you are planning on attending International Families Orientation, we strongly suggest that you purchase a health insurance policy for your time here in the U.S. Your student is covered by the College’s health insurance plan, but parents and family members are not. While you can purchase health coverage through a variety of companies, you might consider using the company that the College uses.
