International Student Tutoring at Gettysburg College
International Student Services at Gettysburg College realizes that college expectations vary from culture to culture for writing, test-taking and other academic skills, so international students sometimes need additional advice and other assistance for navigating their course studies at Gettysburg. Starting with the 2016-17 academic year, the ISS office now offers tutoring for international students on a variety of academic matters. Kelly Whitcomb, our International Student Tutor, primarily works one-on-one with students for one hour at a time to help with class assignments and preparation. With ESL and college teaching experience in the humanities, some of the things Kelly assists students with include understanding assignments and U.S. college expectations, preparation for class participation, planning and revising papers, and reading and studying effectively for classes and tests. International students in any semester or course may contact the Intercultural Resource Center to schedule an appointment or e-mail Kelly to find out more.
