Rare and Quiet: The Past Lives of Books

Rare and Quiet: The Past Lives of Books

By the time a book reaches Special Collections, it has lived a full and exciting life. It has passed from one owner to the next, and traveled through generations of libraries both public and personal. Learn about the paths a selection of books have taken before they became a part of our collection of rare books. Curated by Tricia Smelter '71 Intern, Emma Wylam, Class of 2024, Rare and Quiet: the Past Lives of Books will be open through December 2024. Special Collections is located on the 4th floor of Musselman Library, Gettysburg College. We are open Monday-Friday 1-5 PM and Tuesday & Wednesday evenings from 6-9 PM while classes are in session.
