Academic Focus
Childhood trauma, resilience, emotion regulation; olfaction and food perception
My research interests focus on two main areas. My first research interest is on the effects of childhood trauma on later resilience and emotion regulation. I am interested in the protective factors that mitigate the effects of early adversity. As a developmental psychologist, I am also interested in the sense of smell in children, specifically, how smells affect thoughts and emotion. Related to this, I conduct research in food perception, what makes people attracted/repulsed by food, and how food perception may vary with individual characteristics.
