On-Campus Housing

Frequently-Asked Questions

How do I decide whether to stay on campus or in a hotel?
Alumni who want to be near friends or bring their families back to campus for a casual weekend generally enjoy staying in the residence halls. If you are looking for a romantic or full-service get-away, the dorms are probably not your best option. Staying in the dorms is convenient and economical, but it is not luxurious. Remember how uncomfortable those mattresses are? If you prefer hotel accommodations, please make your reservations soon! View a list of local hotels/motels.

How much will campus housing cost?
Rate for Reunion Weekend 2024 is $65 per person/per night.

When and where can I sign up to stay on-campus?
You may request on-campus housing through the Reunion Weekend online registration form, which will be available in late March 2024.

What should I bring?
Linens, blankets, pillows and small towels are provided but not replenished throughout the weekend. Please note that the mattresses on campus are twin/extra long. Alumni should bring personal care items such as bathrobes, washcloths, alarm clocks, slippers, hangers, and additional towels, pillows, blankets, and bedding if needed. Alumni with small children should bring supplies with them, or rent equipment locally. Try Gettysburg Rental Center at 717-334-0021.

Which residence halls are used, and what are the rooms like?
Various residence halls will be used for Alumni Weekend Housing. All are air-conditioned. Most dorms offered are apartment style, with each apartment sleeping approximately 4-6 people, and featuring a common living area, bathroom, and kitchen. Sleeping rooms are equipped with single beds. Some sleeping rooms have only one bed, while others have two. Hotel style rooms are also available and include two single beds and one bathroom. Please indicate special accommodations needed on the registration form.

How is housing assigned?
On-campus housing is available to alumni who are registered for Reunion Weekend events. The Alumni Relations Office will assign on-campus housing to alumni who officially register. Every effort will be made to house classes together. Walk-up registration for housing will not be available.

May I request roommates?
Alumni may request to be housed with or near other specific alumni. Roommate requests will be honored only if both parties request each other. If alumni do not state specific roommate requests, they may be assigned room/suite mates. Please do not register for other alumni outside your household/family.

How do I check-in and out of on-campus housing?
Room assignments and keys may be picked up at registration in the College Union Building (CUB/SUB) lobby during the hours listed in the schedule of events. Check-out is Sunday by 11:00 a.m. Be sure to return keys and key cards to the CUB/SUB lobby. There is a charge for any key/key card not returned before leaving campus, as locks are replaced in these rooms on Monday morning.
